Roommate Wanted

FREE! / SHARED SPACE – LUXURY DWELLING 2.5 FEET FROM THE OROPHARYNX!

The Dwelling:

20 feet of shared living space is available in an immuno-competent host. Cozy duodenum with room for expansion in the large intestine. Convenient get-away to the shore. Well stocked pantry included!

The Roommates:

Over 400 bacteria species, mostly anaerobes. You may occasionally run into a few Clostridium difficile, but they are low in number and typically should not give much trouble

You:

Looking for respectful, social, and helpful microorganisms that can benefit the host. Special talents you bring to the community may include the ability to defend against invasion or growth of bad bacteria, improve intestinal barrier function, produce protective signaling molecules to help the host immune system, or possibly even modulate host pain perception.

How to apply:

Since the FDA does not currently do background checks, please come for an interview in your natural form (i.e. yogurt, fermented foods) preferably with a “live culture” label. We’ve had excellent experience with Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species.  A letter of reference from them or similar would be appreciated.

Summary:

If you are a beneficial microorganism in need of an expansive dwelling with all the amenities, this is the perfect place for you! Looking forward to hearing from you.
